Design unique fashion for exclusive runway shows, vote as a community on your favorite Bitmoji looks.
Project Overview
The next generation of fashion game, the player is in control and truly the designer in Fashion Icon. Tweak a garment’s hem lengths, the overall style, the fabric, the print (using the pattern maker) and then add as many details as you can imagine with themed stickers - buckles, buttons and many more.
Players can enter their designed looks into runway shows and see how the community likes them, or vote on other player’s fashion! The runway shows used a modified version of ELO system to ensure fair competition.
Fashion Icon is endlessly replayable and driven by systemic fashion shows that combine a strong thematic element with randomized challenges. It was a Snap fan favorite game.
Role: Lead Game Designer
Led a team of 5-10 multidiciplinary developers as the Creative Lead and Visionholder for over a year to deliver the title and 2 major updates.
Responsibilities
Creative Lead
Led creative on the project from initial pitch through feature development. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of design and quality. Extensive cross-disciplinary work and communication with the wider Bitmoji team who were responsible for the 3D characters. Set and directed inclusive brainstorming sessions encouraging all team members to participate in creative ideation.
Project Director & Visionholder
I was responsible for project management, milestone delivery and keeping clear communication channels open with stakeholders and leadership alongside our producer. Held the overarching vision and created concise design specs to keep all developers aligned and working at their best. Balanced many constraints to deliver an ambitious flagship project.
Hands-on Design
Contributed extensive work to implementation tasks between my other duties.
Owned features, designed UX, FTUE and directed playtesting sessions to deliver informed iterative improvements that were empathetic to our large user base.
